Testimonials

We are still using the “shed” at least three times, usually four times a week even for breakfast when we have visitors, it has completely delayed the new kitchen because we spend so much time down there.  Also we have developed lots of new things to have from home made pheasant burgers to poached salmon with leeks, dill and wine, so no shortage of ideas.

Well and truly got snowed in but the priority was digging a path to the shed, bugger getting the cars out!  Had a whale of a time, had kept the freezers stocked up for an eventuality so worked out a treat.

Dear Sue & Graham

Now that the festivities are over I am writing to say how impressed we are with erection of the BBQ Lodge and all correspondence with yourselves, the installation was painless and I was very impressed with Graham & Tom.

We lit the BBQ to try it and I must admit I was expecting the lodge to be filled with smoke but everything worked perfectly.  I have had my first visitor to make a special trip to ask about my house in the garden and when she sat inside is very impressed, wants one and says it will be cheaper than an extension, she's going to bring hubby along so I said I would invite them to a barbie to see how well it works.

The family love it and its been noticed by neighbours in the village so I would imagine word will get around.

Getting excited now can't wait until my first barbie.

Best regards

Dear Sue and Graham

Many thanks for the quick and efficient installation of our lodge last week. I was disappointed that I had to depart before it was fully in place, but when I came back the next evening the family had all the accessories in place and the candles lit and it was just magic....

We managed to fill it with smoke by using wood for the first fire but realised the error and moved on to charcoal with much greater success.

We have had dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea in it so far and are looking forward to many more happy times spent in it. It did not seem to matter that it was pouring with rain outside - although the shop assistant in B&Q did ask me why I was buying barbeque coal this time of year.

Thanks again for making it all happen so quickly.

With Kind Regards Irene

Dear Sue
Just received the reindeer skins - they are fabulous !
Thank you so much for your prompt service.
Kind regards
Sally

Sue and Graham,

The bbq lodge is fantastic. We had our first test, as you know, this weekend with a bbq with my brother. A bit more experimentation required for the fire up stage to reduce the smoke effect but once that cleared we all had a fantastic time!!

We will take some photographs and send them to to you.

Very many thanks for a fantastic facility.

Regards,
J-G

Hi Sue / Graham

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say a big thanks for your help in getting the bbq lodge up & ready in such a short space of time.

In the few weeks since it was delivered, it has already proven to be priceless.  Wet, windy, cold.... we don't need to worry any more.

The family from Canada loved it - perhaps a new market for you ??   Children love it and are fighting over potential invitees for the first sleep-over.

I agree with your advise that trial and error is the only way to learn how to get the perfect BBQ conditions - looking forward to getting plenty of practice over the summer.

thanks & regards

Hi Sue,

Tim and I would like to tell you both how much we love our lodge, unlike your other lodge owners we have a tv, I know, but Football seems to follow us everywhere. Even with the football on I love it. When the fire is burning and the candles are alight it is beautiful, so cosy and romantic with the sound of the river running passed, we could be anywhere in the world.

We are so glad we went to the Axminster show and met you both.

Many thanks.                                   Janice and Tim Noyes

To Sue and Graham –

Watching you work as a family unit when installing the lodge was delightful.  It was uplifting to see your smiles.  I’m so glad we down sided to the smaller lodge on the decking. We have room for 15 inside the lodge, storage for the wood pile outside and lots of space to place flower pots on and to set the lodge off.

The BBQ is fantastic, we have spent all weekend in the lodge, it’s so easy to clean and it’s lovely to be able to interact as a family without the TV and mod cons.  Hamish my naughty dog bit off one of the reindeer skin tails and then bit my finger on Saturday, he is banned from the lodge until the excitement dies down a little.

Everyone has renamed us Hansel and Gretel.  This is definitely the best purchase of our lives.  Who would want to live in doors when you have such a lovely retreat as this?  The Hare is like Doctor Who’s ‘Tardis’, I can’t believe the space. What a Xmas we are going to have.  Mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, BBQ banana with cinnamon, pizza’s baked just like the Italian restaurants.  I’m in heaven.

Wow, this chills you out from the run of the mill office environment and family chores.   I’m so HAPPY – our neighbors’ love it.

Hi sue

We had a long wait before our lodge became reality (due to too much rain last summer we couldn't put the base down) once it was down though you pulled out all the stops to get us up and running.

Running a b&b the bbq-hut is as much for the guests to use as it is for us, and although they love it they don't love it as much as I do  - I regularly sneak off with i pod and a book, only to be found later, asleep under the reindeer skins!!!

Dear Sue

We are absolutely thrilled with our lodge and have had so much fun
entertaining in it in the two weeks since its arrival, we wonder how
we managed before.  Kids love the freedom of  being outdoors but
feel all cosy inside the lodge, and for mum and dad it's become our
little hideaway down the garden where we can share a glass of wine
and reflect on the days events.

We are getting better at cooking on the open fire and managing the
temperature and successfully cooked buttermilk pancakes yesterday for
friends which we all enjoyed with maple syrup and clotted cream,
yum!   We have also  decided we love our lodge so much that we are
planning to have Christmas day outside in it too!  The possibilities
for it are endless, great fun, everyone should have one.

With best wishes
