Grillkota history

Historically, Grillkotas were used by generations of Sami reindeer herders to come together, gather around the fire and cook the meat from their hunt. Originally tent structures, and latterly constructed from wood, Grillkotas were a central part of life for the nomadic Sami people.

Modern day barbecue cabins

The modern day take on a Grillkota is a barbecue cabin or BBQ Lodge for socialising and entertaining. They provide an all-weather BBQ cooking area which is also large enough for eating and socialising in. Whilst most retain the traditional Grillkota shape and look they can be customised with the addition of extra rooms, lighting, décor options as well as even joining two together!

More than just BBQs

Many barbecue hut owners also use their huts as an additional work space, an extra room for weekend visitors or dens for teenagers. They can even be installed without the central BBQ making them perfect as therapy rooms, exercise spaces or simply an extra room for growing families.
