Creating a den for teenagers
Did you know - you don’t HAVE to have a BBQ in your BBQ Lodge? Without a grill, they make ideal chill out dens for teenagers!
When thinking about how to teenage-ify your Lodge for your kids, consider maxing out on comfort - think bean bags, blankets, cushions. Why not stock up on some good board games for them and create a screen free zone where they can unwind old school style with their pals? The all important fairy lights will keep things super cosy, and battery powered candles (who knew!) will mean you don’t have to stand outside with a fire extinguisher pretending you are busying yourself with the garden.
When not in chill mode, teenagers tend to have a lot of homework - our Lodges make lovely and quiet study spaces. Add in a desk and chair, a nice soft rug or two and you have a really motivating and inviting place to learn in. If you have a super arty teen, you could transform your Lodge into the art studio of dreams, where they are able to fully explore and create to their hearts content, without having to pack everything away at the end of each session.
Perhaps you have a budding Beatle under your roof, who loves to practice their drums/guitar/recorder day and night. If so, our huts work really well as music rooms, with ample space for storing all manner of clarinets and tambourines. For full transparency, they aren’t totally soundproof, however they are outside in the garden and not in the room directly above the one you sitting in!
Our Lodges are so multifaceted that they really are open to being transformed into whatever space you are trying to create for your teen. As our children grow and start to test out their independence, installing a Lodge is a fantastic way to support their growing interests and needs in a beautiful and safe environment.
